A Trip To The Bookstore | Booksale in SM Megamall

So I've ran out of things to read because I found myself rereading some novels that I already read so I went to Booksale. Now, the name describes itself. Alot of their books are way cheaper than their usual price and they have books that are pretty popular or some that you've probably never heard of.

I guess the only downside of this bookstore is that they don't carry the complete series of the books (you know, if the book you found is in a series). Some are already has some folds here and there but nothing too tragic.

The space is quite small since people keep going in and out or stopping to read or gather books that they're about to purchase. But I guess that's just a verification that this place does have really good books.

Not gonna lie, I did feel overwhelmed with all the choices but I managed to pick up one book which is "The Lake Of Dreams" by: Kim Edwards for PHP 145 and I'll be reading it in the weekend. But yea, I guess going on a book store is probably one of my favorite things to do. I can't explain why without blabbering too much but I guess it's because I really do like books a lot.

So, when was the last time you've picked up a new book to read or went to a bookstore?

Mochicreme Japanese Ice Cream

Now what is this? Well "Mochi" based from Wikipedia is a
Japanese rice cake made of mochigome, a short-grain japonica glutinous rice. The rice is pounded into paste and molded into the desired shape. And then add in some ice cream and tada! Here you have it!

I have heard of this type of ice cream before but I have never ever tried one and was actually surprised to know that they were available in SM Megamall! And yes, I never noticed it before for whatever reason. Looking at them, I was a bit overwhelmed with the choices because they all look so good. But of course, I picked up my favorite which is the Purple Yam (PHP 70) and then chocolate (PHP 70) for my brother.

The first bite was heaven and the second and so on didn't disappoint. Me and my brother actually like it and would most likely be eating these again when we get the chance. It wasn't messy to eat and it isn't too cold to bite into, it's practically just you and the sweet flavor.

Have you tried these out yet?

Quick FX CC Cream Review

I received this product from Quick FX a few months ago and have been trying to decide what my final verdict for this product was and now that I finally know, I'll be sharing it to you guys.

Price:
PHP 89 at any Watsons or SM Department Store at their beauty section.

What do I think about it?

So, from the packaging, it claims to color correct which can conceal, hydrate and protect and give a healthy glow on the skin on one application. Their directions for use is on the back and it says: Apply in circular motion blending evenly into skin. Layer for buildable coverage. Wear underneath foundation to minimize the appearance of imperfections, even out skintone, and provide natural luminosity to dull skin.

Okay, so for me, I tried this as an actual CC cream and just used it on my face for a whole day and I'm not so sure about that because it totally did not last on my skin and made me look greasy. The next day, I tried this the same way, applying it all over my face and then putting a foundation on top. It made me look way cakey and very unnatural. I was starting to dislike it from this part on but then I tried to read the actual product and all I could see was "color correct" (you know the saying, sometimes a pencil is just a pencil, don't overthink it). Then, I used this just on my red or dark spots and blemishes that are way too noticeable, blended it in and then put a foundation above it. With this method, it worked perfectly for me and a plus because the red spots that I had before applying this now gives me a nice healthy glow which is an illusion and I didn't expect from this product.

Do note that this is not a concealer at all but just a color corrector.

Is it worth the money?

After figuring out what it was meant for is the reason that I think it is definitely worth the money because it's pretty cheap and comes with a resealable pack. You honestly don't have to use much of this product everytime. Just a dot per spot you wanna color correct is enough. This CC cream also has just one shade which is nothing to worry about because it does adapt to every skin type. I used this on my friend and my mom who had different skin tones than I do and it worked amazing for them too.

Disclosure: I am in no way payed to say anything about this product, Quick FX just sent it to me to try out because they just recently released it and would like for me to review it. All opinions or statements made were based off on my own experience whilst using the product.

lol (Lots Of Love) Cosmetics Eyeshadow Review | 01 Black Betty

Last I reviewed a product from this brand was the bronzing powder. And while I use that quite often, I can't deny that I had high hopes for this one. I picked this up for my Halloween makeup for the Halloween party that me and my brother attended.

Price: P139 ($3.04)

What do I think of this product?
I could say that the colors blue, white & black were very pigmented. However, the gray and silver shades needs more building up if you intend on using them. During application, it does get messy since the powder moves all over the lids so you would want to apply this first before putting on foundation and everything else. This comes with a little applicator that I actually used once but it keeps sucking up all the colors so I don't really use it anymore. If you're into shimmery eyeshadows, all of these are perfect for you except from the black since you can't really see the shimmer in it. You could also easily find this at any Watson's or SM department store branches. They do have other colors to choose from which I kinda regret note taking note of what colors or names they were.

Hearts indicating what colors I used. No eye liner or mascara. Lipstick Nyx Soft Matte Lip cream in Abu Dhabi.
Hearts indicating what colors I used. No eye liner or mascara. Lipstick used: Silky Girl Moisture Rich in Sensual.

Is it worth the money?
For how cheap it is, yes. If you're looking for a palette that's light or easy to carry around without having to worry reapplying for the whole day or night, then this is your product! Easy to use for beginners or who likes playing with their smokey eyes, just remember to get a separate brush because again, I didn't enjoy using the applicator that much.

I hope that you've found this review useful and if you have any more questions, suggestions or requests, please comment down below and I'll reply to them as soon as I can.

Chromastix Hair Chalk with Applicator and Intense Review

I picked these up about a month ago for my Halloween costume for the Halloween party that me and my brother attended last October 25, 2015. Now I didn't really have high hopes for this product since I just wanted some crazy colors on my hair that day. I also featured this on my October favorites so if that's not saying anything, I don't know what will, but well, let me try a little more.

Item Description:
The fun, safe, easy and temporary hair color solution! Dip dye and highlight in quick, convenient steps.

Prices:
Chromastix Hair Chalk with Applicator - P149 (3.26 USD)
Chromastix Hair Chalk Intense - P99 (2.17 USD)

What do I think of this product?
Application was very easy. You just spray your hair with water and make sure it's damp but not too too damp. Then, rub the chalk on the damp hair. Then, seal with a hair straightener or curling iron.

The applicator comes with a chalk of its own of course but you only have 2 options which is 1, what I got which is Pink and the other one is purple. The intense pack comes with 6 colors which are red, orange, blue, purple, yellow and pink.

Using the hair chalk with applicator was actually a little bit difficult because the chalk kept sinking after awhile and just so you know, the intense pack is not a refiller for the applicator so when the chalk on the applicator sinks down, you'll have to remove it and apply manually like how you did using the intense chalks. I have no idea if they do sell actual refillers for these since I haven't seen one just yet.

Used the pink, purple and blue chalk last Halloween Party.

Really messy application, not just on your hands but on your surroundings too so be careful to not wear or place anything near you that you don't want stained. It would last for awhile. And I really mean it because it has been 6 days at the moment (when I typed this out) and I still have pink and blue hair. These can easily be found at Watson's or SM department store branches although, last time I went which is a few days ago, the intense pack was sold out so you would want to ask for a sales lady or man to assist you or to ask when they'll be restocking whatsoever if you're trying to find it.

Is it worth the money?
I think if you are planning to invest on these, just get the intense pack because the applicator just doesn't work that great and either way you'd make a mess anyway so just go for the quick route. And yes, the intense pack, I highly recommend it to anyone interested on temporarily coloring their hair since like it's name, is very intense and again would last on your hair for awhile. Great for experimenting with colors too if you're planning to dye it that way. Plus, it is quite cheap and it would be impossible for you to use all of them on a single application.

I hope that this review has been helpful and if you have anymore questions or suggestions, leave a comment down below and I'll reply as soon as I can. And I'm curious, what were you dressed up as last Halloween?

Bobbie Cosmetics Poof! Concealer Review

A few weeks ago, me and my brother went to Watson's just to grab some necessities and I stumbled upon the Bobbie Cosmetics Stall. I actually wasn't that aware that they released a cosmetics line since I was so focused on their nail polishes. Though, they have really cute packaging and inexpensive products.that I ask myself how come I never noticed it before? Anyway, I picked up this cream concealer in the shade CN-02 (The 2nd lightest shade). And here is what I think about it:

Price:
P100 ($2.14 USD)

What do I think of this product?

Without Concealer

With Concealer

While I was trying out their testers, I do notice that they only have 3 shades and that may become a down side since this shade is abit lighter than my skin tone and the next shade is too dark for my skin. I now use this for my undereye circles which does a great job at hiding and highlighting although, it doesn't work well on hiding blemishes. It's scent is pretty faint  that it goes unnoticed and it's easily blendable even if you are just using your fingers to pat in onto your skin.

After you set it with powder, expect it to stay where it is for a few hours but, This product does cake up or crease on my skin after 6 hours or so. Not that much of an issue if you won't need it for a whole day.

Is it worth the money?

Yes, I think it is since for it's price, it does help with the dark undereye circles. Like I said, you can use only your fingers and it has a small mirror on the other side of the product just incase you need to use it on-the go. It is quite small so you can easily carry this around on your purse and it doesn't eat up space. I was actually satisfied with this that I would wanna try out other products on their line like the eyeshadow palette and lipsticks. So if you want a cheap concealer for your undereye cirlces, try this one but I don't really recommend this for hiding blemishes.

So that is my review for this product and I hope that this has helped you incase you are looking to try this out. If you have any more questions, suggestions or request or even if you already tried this product, how has it worked for you? Leave a comment down below and I'll try to reply as soon as I see them.

Haul | Lush, Stila, H&M, F21 and more!

I am guilty of going out to go shopping once again. But, I feel that I needed these things so here they are. (I do need them! I do!)

For the drugstore, I only picked up 2 items and those are both nail polishes. 1 is the Chic Nail Color from the Summer Love Collection (with Kathryn Bernardo's name on it) in the shade Lollipop P33 ($0.71 USD) and the other one is from the Kath-queen Collection in the shade Tsarina (Also from the brand Chic) P33 ($0.71 USD). I just feel that I needed some new colors in my collection (which I really should be organizing).

From Lush, I got the Daddy-O Shampoo  100g P445 ($9.58 USD). So I recently (for the past month) have colored and bleached my hair so I now need a purple shampoo to prevent my blondes from going brassy. Though, it says on the bottle that this works for brunettes too and since I have an ombre styled color, I will see how this one would go. And also, is it just me or are purple shampoos hard to find in the Philippines?

From Stila, I got the infamous Stila All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Intense Black P745 ($16.03 USD). I used to actually skip the part of doing eyeliners because of how I hate it when it fades throughout the day. A friend of mine recommended me to try this out so I got it today and would make a review on it once I start to use it for a few days / weeks.

From H&M, they were having a huge sale but I only got to pick out one that I actually love and it is these Super Skinny Ankle Jeans that are ripped in the knee section. It's original price was P1690 ($36.37 USD) and I got it for P700 ($15.06 USD). Usually, I'm not much of a jeans person all because I keep complaining on how I kinda feel restricted to move and because it feels so hot, especially with the weather today. But, I do notice that I do need them for some occasions or places that I go to.

In Forever 21, they were also having a sale and I bought 2 tops that I would use as a part of an everyday style and for a special occasion style. 1st one I got is this long navy blue shirt and when I try it on, it kinda looks like a mini dress on me which I think looks great to throw on with shorts or tights if I'm gonna go do some errands but would still look put together. The original price was P655 ($14.09 USD) and I got it for P449 ($9.66 USD).

Another top from Forever 21 is this White Knit Top and a see-through section at the back. I do admit that this may look a little too hot to wear, but when I tried it on, it wasn't really that bad. Although, I would still recommend wearing this during a cooler weather or if I'm heading to a place with air conditioning. The original price was P805 ($17.32 USD) and I got it for P559 ($12.03 USD)

And lastly, I picked up a new hobby which is lettering / painting. So I got myself this Prang Water Color P459 ($9.88 USD) from National Bookstore. It has 16 colors and comes with it's own fine tip brush. This was the last one that they had at the SM Megamall Branch today so lucky me! Although, when I did check the Shangri-la Rustan's National Bookstore, they had more stocks + they also had the Oval-8 set which was P250 ($5.38 USD). Oh well, I just got excited when I saw this so.. yeap.

That is it for my haul, do comment down below if you have already tried out any of these products and how did you like them? Or if you have any more questions, suggestions or request just leave it below and I'll be sure to reply once I see it.

And that reminds me, what shop do you tend to go 1st whenever you go to the mall?
