What I Got For Christmas 2016

Merry Christmas Everybody!

Although this post kinda went up late, I still feel the holiday spirit. So, these presents are a mixture of what I got for myself and what my parents got me. I feel really thankful and blessed to be able to have all of these and more during Christmas day.

  • Dark Blue Cardigan

So during Christmas eve (the 24th), me and my brother went to Greenhills Shopping Center which is pretty much an indoor market. I got this cardigan for PHP 150 (3.01 USD) since I always wear these things when I'm on the go and can't be bothered to mix and match my outfits or pretty much when I throw on leggings and a tank top. I only have a really thick black cardigan, a white blazer and a gray thin cardigan, so I'm really happy that I get to add this into my collection.

  • Pants

For the past few months, I've been so into these pants. They are the comfiest things ever and they are such a fashionable piece. I own 2 black ones that are about the same cut but none of them has this fabric. I also opted for a gray one for those days that I want to look a little bit more dressed up. Also, they're pretty cheap since they cost PHP 350 (7.03 USD) or 3 for PHP 1,000.

  • Shorts

I rarely wear shorts nowadays but I honestly found this so cute that I really wanted to get it. This was PHP 350 (7.03 USD) and fits me quite nicely. So I'll be wearing this whenever I just go to hang out with friends or doing some quick errands that does not require me to dress nicely.

  • Belt

I don't own a lot of belts, actually I think I only have 1 silver belt that I use whenever I wear my baggy shorts and that rarely looks good on what I wear. So, I got this belt to use whenever I feel like tucking in my shirt or just pretty much showing the top part of my pants which I often do nowadays. This was PHP 150 (3.01 USD) also from Greenhills.

  • Starbucks Planner

I really didn't think that I would be able to get this one until the end of the year or probably early on the next year, but I got it exactly during Christmas day. Basically, you'll need to collect 18 stickers, 9 from their regular drinks and 9 from their holiday drinks. I started collecting since the first week of November, so it was kind of expected for me to get this sooner or later since I drink Starbucks as a necessity for studying.

  • L'Officiel Magazine

Well, I actually buy this magazine almost every month due to it's layout since it really has that modern feel into it. I use this magazine as a source for inspiration on what I want my blog post or pictures to look like, it kinda helps me with dressing myself too which I'm not all that good at since this is basically a fashion type magazine. I got this for PHP 250 (5.02 USD) at National Bookstore in Shangri-la during Christmas Eve since me and my brother were spending the night at a hotel room and I didn't really feel like watching TV.

  • Makeup Pouch

This was just a quick purchase on my side since we happen to pass by Daiso in the midst of last minute Christmas shopping. I found this on a small corner of the store for PHP 88. There was also another pouch that says "eyebrows on fleek". There were only 4 of these left, 2 of each design. I'll be using this as a makeup pouch to put inside my bag so that I won't have to dig through endless things for a powder or a lipstick.

  • Pandora Princess Tiara Ring in Rose Gold

I actually got this ring in advance during the 20th of December because it was selling out so fast. Pandora's branch at SM Megamall didn't have these in stock anymore (even in silver) so I went to Pandora's branch at Shangri-la and they had this as the very last one in Rose gold. Luckily, it fit me just right so I got it. It was PHP 4,500 (90.39 USD) which I think is worth it since I love rings and I'll be using this very often. I really can't stop looking at it, I'm so obsessed and it was actually the only thing that I wanted for Christmas so I'm just so happy.

So those are the things that I got for Christmas, I could say that I had an awesome time and I hope you did as well. Now, it's time to get ready for the new year!

Also, if you're interested, you can read about what I got for last year's Christmas right here, hint: it's the time I got my camera.

Daiso Makeup Brush Cleaner Review

If you've seen my previous Youtube video, you'd know how much I've been talking about these babies and yet, I just can't get enough about it! Wanna know why? Then keep on reading...

Price:
PHP 88 at Daiso in Robinson's Galleria.

What do I think of this product?

I can't help it but what I first saw is that Daiso is from Japan although this one is made in Korea. I don't know why people keep saying that this has no scent but for me it smells abit citrusy which isn't bad at all (at least for me). It has some insights + instructions on the back of the product which is very helpful especially for beginners who don't know how to use one of these but here is an example of how I clean mine. (Note: This isn't my complete routine but just showing you guys how I use this product):

  1. Put a good amount of Daiso Makeup Brush Cleaner in a container.
  2. Put a little bit of water.
  3. Dip and swirl your brush around until the liquid changes color.
  4. Rinse with a brush egg or however you wish.

Is the money worth it?

I'm happy to say that it is. It's surprisingly cheap but does it's job well. I honestly didn't expect anything good from this product but boy was I wrong. The only con I would say about this is it's very hard to get one. Not all Daiso branches sell these and it did took me a few weeks to be able to find one and to see that they only have a few pieces on stock (not even 10 pieces). It's really good for my brushes because it doesn't ruin it although I don't own any animal hair brush to test it out (but caution: I did hear that this product does not do well with animal hair brushes).

Hope that you found this review useful and if you got any more questions, suggestions, request, don't hesitate to leave a comment down below and I'll reply as soon as I can.

The Minimal Makeup

These days, the natural or no makeup-makeup look has been on trend. Why? Because it's easy on the eyes, minimal amount of products used but still brings out your features. Here I will be showing 2 products that helped me achieved that look

Celina Oil Free UV Block SPF 15 Powder Foundation

P200 @theclosetqueen

Description:

*Contains sunscreen
*No mixture of oil

Product of Thailand

Verdict:

Now, I'm not usually a powder foundation lover and always goes for the liquid foundation ones because... no reason really, I just find them easy to blend on my skin. This however, applied like a powder on my face. I was pretty scared at first since I thought that it isn't like a foundation. The coverage is pretty minimal so you would have to rely on a bit of concealer. After using this product for 5 days everyday, I could really see that it does live up to it's name since my face was pretty much oil free throughout the day or atleast 5-6 hours and knowing me, I get oily after an hour or 2 so I was actually surprised by this.

Terra Cotta Blusher

P280 @theclosetqueen

Description:
LDM Paris Terracotta Blusher
Brightens the face with its silky pearlized finish. Dab on the cheeks, brow bone, nose, whichever part of your face you want to highlight.
10 g
Php280
Text/Viber 09173931933

Verdict:

This really didn't look like a blush to me but a highlighter. So I used this one for that purpose and it does give a good shine to my skin. If you've seen some Korean models who just has this smooth looking shiny skin, this product actually gives an almost identical look to you. It's super easy to apply on your skin and blend. The only con I would have to say about this is that while it does sink into your makeup, it disappears after 3 hours or based on my experience. Still, it isn't hard to reapply some shine since the packaging is travel friendly a.k.a. you can put in inside your purse and whip it out when you need to without worrying of it making a mess.

Putting a really thin eyeliner and not  natural looking brows with a nude lipstick does complete this whole look and makes anyone's tired looking face look more awake and natural. Not too overdone but not undone, a look that would bring out your natural features up for appreciation.

And yes, the puffy eyes game is real since I've been binge watching drama all day for 2 days. So if you have any suggestions, leave a comment down below if you know any shows or movies you think I would like.

My Current Favorite Makeup Look

You ever had one of those selfies where you just have this feeling that it would only look good at the moment and in the future you might regret liking it so much? Yea, I had a ton of those and this one probably might be an example of what I'm addicted to now.

First of I was feeling my big curly hair at that moment and I was taking pictures of myself for my review on the Silky Girl lipstick. I don't know exactly why I like it so much, I just kinda do.

Bold brows of course would be included because I have naturally bushy eyebrows that I have a love hate relationship with. I love that I can style it but I hate that I have to style it. It's just really bushy that I do have to do a maintenance for it.

The cat eyeliner, I just recently been loving this since before I just thought that I looked weird and it makes me look even more Asian (I don't hate that I look Asian, I just opted for a different look back then). And then I guess I just played with the tail part until I got the shape that I wanted.

Washed blush, I honestly couldn't think of a more appropriate word to rhyme with blush so I went for washed because the look is very subtle that it's almost natural looking on my skin. Not that much of a fan with blushes so I keep it to a minimum all the time.

Pinky pout is my must-have look because a pink nude lipstick is my comfort shade. I feel more natural and girly and I can say that it goes with whatever style I wish to do with myself.

Do you have a current favorite look for yourself or you do like changing it up everyday?

lol (Lots Of Love) Cosmetics Eyeshadow Review | 01 Black Betty

Last I reviewed a product from this brand was the bronzing powder. And while I use that quite often, I can't deny that I had high hopes for this one. I picked this up for my Halloween makeup for the Halloween party that me and my brother attended.

Price: P139 ($3.04)

What do I think of this product?
I could say that the colors blue, white & black were very pigmented. However, the gray and silver shades needs more building up if you intend on using them. During application, it does get messy since the powder moves all over the lids so you would want to apply this first before putting on foundation and everything else. This comes with a little applicator that I actually used once but it keeps sucking up all the colors so I don't really use it anymore. If you're into shimmery eyeshadows, all of these are perfect for you except from the black since you can't really see the shimmer in it. You could also easily find this at any Watson's or SM department store branches. They do have other colors to choose from which I kinda regret note taking note of what colors or names they were.

Hearts indicating what colors I used. No eye liner or mascara. Lipstick Nyx Soft Matte Lip cream in Abu Dhabi.
Hearts indicating what colors I used. No eye liner or mascara. Lipstick used: Silky Girl Moisture Rich in Sensual.

Is it worth the money?
For how cheap it is, yes. If you're looking for a palette that's light or easy to carry around without having to worry reapplying for the whole day or night, then this is your product! Easy to use for beginners or who likes playing with their smokey eyes, just remember to get a separate brush because again, I didn't enjoy using the applicator that much.

I hope that you've found this review useful and if you have any more questions, suggestions or requests, please comment down below and I'll reply to them as soon as I can.

Rucy's Vanity Products Review.

Rucy's Vanity is a cosmetic brand in the Philippines that offer high quality Korean products for a more reasonable price for everybody. They sent me these products a few days ago for me to try out. While I have been hearing about Rucy's Vanity here and there, I never really got to try them or swatch them before so I really didn't know what to expect. So here is my review after using them for a few days:

Products used from this line:

  • Rucy's Vanity Two-way Cake (Pressed Powder)
  • Rucy's Vanity Auto Eyebrow Pencil
  • Rucy's Vanity Gleamy Lavish Water-proof Mascara in Black
  • Rucy's Vanity Water-proof Liquid Eyeliner in Black

I was also sent 2 nail polishes which I would use 1 for an event I'm heading to tomorrow so further review on that would maybe be on a separate post but just incase you were wondering what colors I got, they're green 01 a color that I think is perfect for summer and gold 01 which I will be using for tomorrow and a perfect shade for fall.

Item Description:
Two Way Cake SPF 35 PA ++ 12g
Combines the goodness of foundation and powder in one with added protection from UV rays with whitening effect.
  • Whitening
  • Stay matte all day
  • Non-cakey
  • UV Protection
  • Non-clogging
  • Made in Korea
Available Shades:
  • #21 Natural Beige
  • #23 Dark Beige
How to use:
Apply smoothly and evenly to your face and blend with puff.

Price: P250

What do I think of this product?
First, I like the packaging. I'm always worried whenever I'm on the go and I use the sponge, it will put / give dirt or bacteria to the product. So having them separated is a plus for me. And, the sponge is quite soft unlike what you would expect from most pressed powders. For the actual product, it applies evenly although having really oily skin and the humid weather, it didn't really lasted that long on my face although, reapplying is easy and not too cakey.

Item Description:
Auto Eyebrow Pencil,  0.33mm
Easy retractable eyebrow pencil, providing excellent sharp and precise lines yet a blendable soft focus to define eyebrow’s natural hue.
  • Made in Korea
Available Colors:
  • Black
  • Gray
  • Brown

Price: P80

What do I think of this product?
This product is very pigmented and even while using a light hand, I didn't have any problems trying to get it cling onto my skin. Easily blendable using a spoolie brush but this product doesn't come with it so you would have to use your own. Brown was a tad dark for my liking but I think the actual product does compete with the eyebrow pencils that I'm currently using.

Item Description:
Rucy's Vanity Gleamy Lavish Waterproof Mascara , 7ml
  • Hypo-allergenic
  • Sweat resistant
  • Water-proof mascara that natural coats each lash making it appear longer and volumized
  • Protects lashes and lock in moisture.
  • Made in Korea

Price: P180

What do I think of this product?
This product is what actually surprised me the most. The reason is because I probably like this one the best out of all of these since my eyelashes easily curled up and never went down althroughout the day without even using an eyelash curler. And with the current humid weather, I expected it to have some problems but nope, no smudging at all and *spoiler alert* I might just have to put this on my favorites for next month.

Item Description:
Rucy's Vanity Liquid Eyeliner , 7ml
  • Long lasting
  • Water-proof eyeliner with deep black pigmentation that last whole day without smudging
  • Made in Korea

Price: P160

What do I think of this product?
Same with the mascara, this actually also survived my constant sweating. It didn't crease which I experienced on an eyeliner before and it's very easy to use. I just recently switched to a felt tip eyeliner but I always used to use a dip brush like this one. I don't really recommend beginners to use this since it does tend to get messy, but if you know how to do your eyeliner, then I suggest you give this one a try.

Also, I'm not sure if I do have a good makeup remover or not but based on my experience, all of these products are easily removed with just a few swipes so that is a plus for me.

Anyway, I hope that you have found this review useful if you are looking to try out these products and leave a comment down below if you have any more further questions, suggestions or if you have tried these products out and how did they work out for you.

L'Oreal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Makeup Review

I got this foundation last month (August 2015) and if you've seen my drugstore haul, I said that I got this because I ran out of foundation and just had to get a new one. I opted for something that is cheap but would have full coverage and I really was deciding if I should get this or not, but after trying out the shades, W3 Nude Beige was a perfect match for me. So I decided to get it and here is what I think about it.

Item Description: With patented color technology, True Match™ Makeup precisely matches your skin’s tone and texture and coordinates perfectly with True Match™ Powder, Blush, and Concealer. Formulated with Precise Match™ Technology so you can control coverage and fine-tune it. Ultra-pure formula contains no oils, fragrances, or pore-clogging fillers, so all you see is beautiful, radiant, flawless skin. With Vitamins A and C, wheat germ and grape fruit extract to keep your skin nourished, protected and healthy.

Finish: Natural
SPF: 17 (select shades)
Coverage: Light to medium
Skin Type: For all skin types. Oil-free.

Available in 33 skin-true shades.

Price and where did I get it? P600 ($12.82 USD) from SM Department Store at SM Megamall. Yeap alot more expensive here in the Philippines which in the US, this only costs about $10.95 (P512.35)

What do I think of this product?
To be quite honest, I did have high expectations for this since after I bought it, I searched around youtube and other blogs (I know, bad habit of mine where I only search reviews after I bought the product- but hey I did hear of this product before!) and I saw that alot of people has this as one of their holy grail foundation. For me though, I have only used it for 4 or 5 times and half that time, it was pretty hot outside and I keep on blotting my face every so often just because the oiliness is real. But during cold weathers, it did seem fine. I know that this isn't a matte or a sheer type of foundation because it is a luminous type of foundation wherein it gives a natural finish to your skin, yet I did expect it to have more coverage where in all honesty, it didn't give me what I was looking for. It does apply nicely but it transfers quite easily that maybe I would have the weather to blame, but still I didn't like that I couldn't touch my face at all while I was wearing this because it would make a little mess.

I do wish that this product has a pump since it is so watery and being as clumsy as I am, pouring out products just isn't practical because besides the fact that I'd tend to spill (it's indeed a given), there will be times where I haven't poured enough and then I'll pour too much. Plus it is more hygienic having to not open the cap and get all sorts of bacteria freely passing through. I did not have issues with breakouts but again, the small spots that I had before using this product didn't have enough coverage while using this. It is really a super natural type of foundation that I think only people who have clear skin and just finding a good base to even out their skin tone would find this foundation pretty good.

Without Foundation

With Foundation

Is it worth the money?
If you are staying at a place where the weather is constantly hot, then nope, not really. I really did wanna like this product because of how it perfectly matches my skin tone which alot of foundations just don't get it right. I will however, recommend this during cold weathers or if you're at a wintery place. Having to spend P600 for it wasn't totally a big deal since most foundations that are well known does cost alot more but still, I expected more from this product like for eg. surviving the weather and more coverage which is probably my only problem.

After wearing it for awhile, it decides to cake up.

So that is it for this review, I hope that this has helped you if you are looking into getting this product out yourself. Do leave a comment down below for any further questions or suggestions or if you have any tips if you have the exact opposite experience as me. Let me know and I'll reply as soon as I see it. Also, what is your holy grail drugstore foundation?
