A 5-minute Facial Using Only 2 Products

In this day and age, living in it comes with a lot of demands such as school, playing catch-up with old friends, focusing on your mental health, trying to eat healthy, budgeting the money that sometimes isn't enough for everything and updating your social media accounts so your family won't miss you so much. A day isn't enough for everything, sometimes a week isn't as well. Doing the things I mentioned lacks parts that I often forget to do or really don't have the time doing anymore such as getting enough sleep, exercising, checking for new products like makeup or clothes at the mall, having time for a new hobby, doing my skin care routine on a daily basis or (what might've caused all of this:) managing my time. Plus the things outside that contribute to how our moods will go every day like the weather (harsh sunrays) and pollution.

Now, I'm not complaining, I'm very blessed to have a life where I am able to do all these things with the hours, days, weeks, months and years that I have because I'm still so young. But I'm also not gonna deny that it does take a toll on me, number one: on my skin.

First, my skin goes through phases wherein I'm really oily on my whole face, and then it switches to having an oily t-zone and very dry parts on my face. Not to mention I have sensitive skin and is very acne prone. Also, I'm one of those people who stresses out a lot. Whether we like it or not, it contributes a lot to achieving healthy and young looking skin. I'm not saying "young" too lightly, being young comes with a skin with an elasticity which helps the skin always looking good as new!

Not gonna lie, I love watching and blogging about my skin care routine, but like I said, I don't have the time nor the patience to do it every single day. I have searched high and low for amazing products. I've jumped on bandwagons for face masks and toners that didn't really work that good on me as everyone said it did on them. I just wanted products that I don't have to use every single day that would still make my skin look amazing. Just in time though, Fresh came out with their new products for their Lotus Youth Preserve line. They added in their Lotus Youth Preserve Rescue Mask and their Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream.

PS: My lips have been very dry these past few days and you'll likely see them here but I'm taking care of that now.

fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Rescue Mask Seaweed Radiance Facial

The very first thing I noticed once I opened the packaging was the scent. It smells so fresh (no pun intended) because of its natural ingredients. It consists of a blend of kombu seaweed, red algae, and lotus seeds that gently refines the skin's texture. Fresh also claims that this mask is a multi-benefit, 5-minute facial in a jar that rescues, revives and recovers tired and overstressed skin from daily stressors back to its radiant and youthful complexion. I mean, it sounds like everything that we could ask for right?

So, it's talked about that this product gives instant results. Based on Fresh's survey:
97% said it minimized the signs of daily stress, including dull, rough and dry skin.
97% said it preserved their youthful-looking complexion.
100% noticed it created a clean, smooth canvas.

On the back of the packaging, it says that you need to apply this on your face in circular motions and to let it work for 5 minutes.

The feeling that I experienced as I was applying this was first the scent was instantly relaxing. It helped a lot to make my mind chill as I was gently rubbing it on my face. It does sink into my skin quickly so I kinda use a lot of it. It also kinda tingles on my skin after applying but it would disappear in a few minutes so I just let my skin calm down before I apply more products after.

I would say that after I used it for a few times, it helped a lot on the dry parts on my face since it was kind of like a scrub because my face felt instantly softer after and made the dry patches disappear. This product also made my face feel so smooth and feel so clean. The cleanliness felt like it lasted the whole day even if I was out and about.

fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream with Super 7 Complex

Okay, I expressed my love for the face mask, but this face cream, I love it just as much (maybe even more). I mainly use this as a moisturizer. I use this product a few days in a week after I use the face mask, cleanse and tone my skin or before I apply my makeup on. Even if I go a few days without using it and dry patches start to show on some parts on my face again, I just apply this and it moisturizes my skin which helps to get rid of the appearance of the dry patches on my face. My face just feels hydrated and soft for a long time in a day or two.

Usually, I apply moisturizers only at night because the weather in the Philippines makes my oily t-zone look oilier than usual, and sometimes the moisturizers I used contributes a lot to the oiliness. This product did not exaggerate the oiliness on my face, it is not sticky and is very lightweight. It also dries up on the face faster or rather, it sinks into my face quickly, sucking up all the moisture this product gives with ease. The oiliness on my face still shows but it doesn't look out of control or excessive.

Applying this face cream before I apply my makeup provides a smooth canvas for my foundation and concealer. It does not make my makeup look patchy and my skin still feels so soft and smooth even after I applied my full face of makeup. So basically, it is something that is perfect to use to prep my skin for makeup.

This face cream claims to minimize or reduce the early signs of aging and like the face mask, and it boosts the skin's radiance. Being at a time where I could really feel the stress of the day to day activities, it is good to have something that would at least help me to still look presentable whenever I need it so much. Using this helps my skin to kind of like repair itself from all the lack of sleep, sometimes not eating healthy food enough and stress. The only thing that this product didn't help me with were the red spots on my face. I think it was just how it was, it never turned redder as I was using this product nor did it get lighter.

Would I recommend?

You might have checked these products out while reading this, and I know that these may cost a lot of money but something that I learned and is still trying to apply in my life is to not be cheap with myself. Having to do and work with a lot of things deserves a reward or treatment by the end of the day. The reward not only has to be something that reminds you of your hard work but would also help you with taking things slow and relax for you to concentrate on yourself and nothing else. Taking care of yourself is the best thing that you could reward yourself with. As long as you could afford it, I would recommend for you to check these out.

Also, if you are for whatever reason finding a late mother's day gift like me, then this would be one of the perfect ones to give for your mom and you to have a pamper session together in the comfort of your own home. Belated Happy Mother's Day to all the lovely and hardworking moms out there!

Disclosure: This was a collaboration with Sephora. I was not paid to say anything I mentioned about the products or the brands. Everything I wrote was based on my own experiences and what I found out from research on these products.

Haul! Halloween, Beauty, Art Related Products.

Me and my brother went to SM Megamall last Friday and we got stuff for Halloween and other random things. I don't know, I'm really a sucker for Halloween, I just love it! Eventhough I'm pretty much a wimp and scared of ghosts. Anyway, here are the things that I got, First the halloween stuff:

Cat Ears with gems headband from H&M P399 ($8.73 USD). I do wanna dress up for Halloween but I decided it to be a little bit low key so I just got these cat ears to be really simple but cute at the same time.

Chromastix Hair Chalk (with applicator) P149 ($3.26 USD) and Chromastix Hair Chalk Intense P99 ($2.17 USD). Like I said, I actually wanted to go abit lowkey on the Halloween Costume so I just decided to put different colors on my hair. Looks really simple and looks like I've made an effort.

Face & Body Crayons from National Bookstore P36.50 ($0.80 USD). I have an idea on how I wanted to dress up my brother as for Halloween so I got this to put face paint on him for that day. I remember getting this for a school fair back in high school and it worked perfectly so hopefully this'll be enough.

lol (Lots Of Love) Eyeshadow in 01 Black Betty from SM Department Store P139 ($3.04 USD) I am contemplating if I wanted to go for a bit of a dark or metallic look for Halloween so I got this palette since I don't have any of these colors in my vanity and would be able to experiment on which one I would like because it has both of the colors that  I imagined that I want to use.

Nichido Tru Lashes Eyelash Adhesive from SM Department Store P60 ($1.31 USD). If you read a previous haul of mine, you'd know that I do not have any eyelash adhesive so I got this one to dress up my eyes and finally get to use my fake eyelashes.

Sweet Cherry Nail Polish in Magic Black from SM Department Store P17.75 ($0.39 USD). I have an idea of a nail art that I wanted to do for Halloween and when I checked my stash I noticed that I was out of black nail polish so I got this and hope that it works well.

For other non-halloween related beauty or fashion products...

Tights 2 Pack from H&M. The original price was P499 ($10.92 USD) but it went on sale for P150 ($3.28 USD). I don't own any tights or stockings and when I saw this, I decided to get it because I don't know when I might need them so it's nice to have some in my closet.

Color My Brows from Etude House in #6 P498 ($10.90 USD). If you have been reading around  my blog posts related to beauty for awhile now, you would know that I really love this product and I kept repurchasing this over and over. I only now noticed that they have a bigger version of what I used to buy but the numbers are different. I used to always get the #2 and that is #6 on the bigger sized ones. I used up all of my small ones so I got this and hopefully it'll last me a lot longer.

Minimal Shirt from Forever 21 P445 ($9.74 USD). I am all about that comfy t-shirt life so I got this one that says Minimal on it. Pretty simple and cute, a good shirt to throw in for everyday or when you're doing errands.

For non-beauty related stuff that I got...

A plain lined notebook from National Bookstore P99 ($2.17 USD). I actually needed a new notebook to write some stuff on since I used all of my usual ones up and my phone is working overtime from taking notes so I got this really light and plain one that I could decorate when I feel like it.

Best Buy Fine tip brushes from National Bookstore P194 ($4.25 USD). I have picked up a new hobby which is caligraphy / lettering or just painting in general. So I got these little brushes to practice on.

Best Buy's 12 Brush from National Bookstore P32 ($0.70 USD). I don't any kind of brush like this since I just got some flat tip ones and I've been wanting to design something that would involve me using something like this so yeap, picked that up and hope that it would be really useful.

So I guess that's it for this haul and hope that you find this somehow helpful if you are trying to find some products or stuff like these and where to get them or how much were they. If you have any more questions or suggestions, don't hesitate to leave a comment down below and I'll be sure to reply to them as soon as I see them.

Also, watch out for my upcoming Halloween series on this blog. So subscribe to me if you haven't already and I'll try my best to not disappoint.

Rucy's Vanity Products Review.

Rucy's Vanity is a cosmetic brand in the Philippines that offer high quality Korean products for a more reasonable price for everybody. They sent me these products a few days ago for me to try out. While I have been hearing about Rucy's Vanity here and there, I never really got to try them or swatch them before so I really didn't know what to expect. So here is my review after using them for a few days:

Products used from this line:

  • Rucy's Vanity Two-way Cake (Pressed Powder)
  • Rucy's Vanity Auto Eyebrow Pencil
  • Rucy's Vanity Gleamy Lavish Water-proof Mascara in Black
  • Rucy's Vanity Water-proof Liquid Eyeliner in Black

I was also sent 2 nail polishes which I would use 1 for an event I'm heading to tomorrow so further review on that would maybe be on a separate post but just incase you were wondering what colors I got, they're green 01 a color that I think is perfect for summer and gold 01 which I will be using for tomorrow and a perfect shade for fall.

Item Description:
Two Way Cake SPF 35 PA ++ 12g
Combines the goodness of foundation and powder in one with added protection from UV rays with whitening effect.
  • Whitening
  • Stay matte all day
  • Non-cakey
  • UV Protection
  • Non-clogging
  • Made in Korea
Available Shades:
  • #21 Natural Beige
  • #23 Dark Beige
How to use:
Apply smoothly and evenly to your face and blend with puff.

Price: P250

What do I think of this product?
First, I like the packaging. I'm always worried whenever I'm on the go and I use the sponge, it will put / give dirt or bacteria to the product. So having them separated is a plus for me. And, the sponge is quite soft unlike what you would expect from most pressed powders. For the actual product, it applies evenly although having really oily skin and the humid weather, it didn't really lasted that long on my face although, reapplying is easy and not too cakey.

Item Description:
Auto Eyebrow Pencil,  0.33mm
Easy retractable eyebrow pencil, providing excellent sharp and precise lines yet a blendable soft focus to define eyebrow’s natural hue.
  • Made in Korea
Available Colors:
  • Black
  • Gray
  • Brown

Price: P80

What do I think of this product?
This product is very pigmented and even while using a light hand, I didn't have any problems trying to get it cling onto my skin. Easily blendable using a spoolie brush but this product doesn't come with it so you would have to use your own. Brown was a tad dark for my liking but I think the actual product does compete with the eyebrow pencils that I'm currently using.

Item Description:
Rucy's Vanity Gleamy Lavish Waterproof Mascara , 7ml
  • Hypo-allergenic
  • Sweat resistant
  • Water-proof mascara that natural coats each lash making it appear longer and volumized
  • Protects lashes and lock in moisture.
  • Made in Korea

Price: P180

What do I think of this product?
This product is what actually surprised me the most. The reason is because I probably like this one the best out of all of these since my eyelashes easily curled up and never went down althroughout the day without even using an eyelash curler. And with the current humid weather, I expected it to have some problems but nope, no smudging at all and *spoiler alert* I might just have to put this on my favorites for next month.

Item Description:
Rucy's Vanity Liquid Eyeliner , 7ml
  • Long lasting
  • Water-proof eyeliner with deep black pigmentation that last whole day without smudging
  • Made in Korea

Price: P160

What do I think of this product?
Same with the mascara, this actually also survived my constant sweating. It didn't crease which I experienced on an eyeliner before and it's very easy to use. I just recently switched to a felt tip eyeliner but I always used to use a dip brush like this one. I don't really recommend beginners to use this since it does tend to get messy, but if you know how to do your eyeliner, then I suggest you give this one a try.

Also, I'm not sure if I do have a good makeup remover or not but based on my experience, all of these products are easily removed with just a few swipes so that is a plus for me.

Anyway, I hope that you have found this review useful if you are looking to try out these products and leave a comment down below if you have any more further questions, suggestions or if you have tried these products out and how did they work out for you.

Mini Haul: Benefit, Lush, Etude House & Forever 21!

Dear bro, thanks for taking this pic.
And understanding my vanity.

I just got home, with goodies from the mall! *Insert overjoyed greeting here*

WARNING: MY NAILS ARE CHIPPED SO I APOLOGIZE IF IT MAY BOTHER SOME OF YOU. I WAS TOO EXCITED TO POST THIS BLOG THAT I FORGOT TO REDO MY NAILS.

So, I am going to make my 1st ever OFFICIAL "Mini Haul". A mini haul because I didn't really buy much but I am telling you, after buying all these stuff I feel like I bought too many already.

Okay, so if you guys read my blog before this one, I mentioned that me and my brother went to the mall today. Yeap, we did go and bought his PSVita but what was unexpected was my little splurge. So without further ado let's get started!

Rustan's "Beauty" floor.
After buying my brother's PSVita at Datablitz at SM Megamall, we then went to Shangri-la so I could go and get some benefit cosmetics. To be honest, I could count with only 1 hand the times I shopped at Rustan's all because it intimidates me since I always see people who "look rich" going in and out of there and kind of made me think that Rustan's has pretty expensive stuff, in which case is yes its true.

Okay so, when me and my brother went inside the beauty floor I thought I just saw heaven. Seriously, EVERYTHING is there like MAC, NARS, Channel, Dior, EVERYTHING! (Except for urban decay which I didn't actually notice if they have it or not.). We went straight to the benefit section because I was so excited and I was thankful that a really nice woman assisted me on picking the items I needed.

A little disclaimer: I am not sponsored by Benefit or any brands that I will talk about here. This is not a review since I haven't tried the items yet except testing it before I bought it. I may or may not post reviews on these items in the future.

What I purchased at Benefit:
It took me a few minutes trying different samples until I finally decided which ones I'm gonna get which are: the limited edition flawless four travel kit and the roller lash mascara.

Roller Lash by: Benefit
Price in Philippine Peso : P1,300

Do I even need to explain why I considered making the roller lash to be one of my 1st purchases at benefit?

From what I heard and watched, this is such an amazing mascara. They said that it does the job of the regular eye curlers (that is a pain in the ass inside my makeup bag I may add) while making it longer and makes the eyes look more wide open.

It has a plastic applicator which as a "beginner" on using mascara is quite common for me to encounter whenever I buy them. Well, from watching make-up gurus advice is that not all plastic applicators grab the eyelashes enough to give it a proper curl but then again I saw most of them now are loving this mascara so when I saw it I just got to have it in my makeup collection.

Limited Edition: The Flawless Four Travel Kit.
Price in Philippine Peso: P1,300

This kit is actually the reason I really wanted to go to benefit. It has the Stay flawless 15-hour primer, Fakeup hydrating crease-control concealer, Hello flawless oxygen wow brightening makeup SPF 25 PA+++, Hello flawless custom powder cover-up and a little brush with benefit engraved in it all in tiny travel sized containers which is good for me because I really wanted to test all these out that it worried me it will cost so much, but with this it is a lot more cheaper and it won't go to waste.

I actually saw this kit at benefitbeautyph on instagram, for a moment after I saw it in person I was kinda worried that its too pricey because all of them are so tiny, but then I thought that its not like I'll be able to use all of these on one go and again, its a chance for me to try everything.

It's Lush Time!
Having to be used to just buying drugstore makeup and skin care items, it was quite a surprise that I finally invested more on these items that I would normally just roll my eyes on and move on because of how expensive they are. But I guess, there is a time for everything. Like me, all of a sudden caught myself walking into the lush store at Shangri-la!

Again, I am thankful that the ladies that assisted me are very nice, helpful and treated me like any other interested buyer on their products. I won't lie, the prices didn't actually surprise me. I don't know if its because I starting investing and being more open minded about these products that I realized that lush has practical prices on their items.None of which I am brave enough to buy yet but I am going to read and watch reviews about certain products that caught my eye.

"Breath Of Fresh Air" Toner Water by: Lush

Price in Philippine Peso: P325

Oh yes, I couldn't help it. This toner caught my eye because 1st, let's be real: it is one of the cheapest ones I saw and I never had a toner that is "spray-on". Plus, I realized that after reading the ingredients, I actually managed to pronounce and know most of them which actually made me fee smart inside (sure Joyce, everyone would want to buy an item that makes them feel smart).

For real though, I did actually saw someone on youtube actually using this and she said it works great for her. I didn't go inside Lush aiming to see this item but when I did, I decided to go ahead and give it a try.

ETUDE HOUSE!
There is just no question when you see me walk into an etude house stall, I absolutely LOVE their stuff! Most of my makeup are all from here like my BB cream, my eyebrow gel and pencil, my nails stuff and my face masks.

I didn't really need to repurchase my makeup and nail colors because like what I'm aiming for, I want to be more adventurous on the makeup field so, I just went ahead and bought only my favorite face mask:

"Tea Tree" Face Mask by Etude House
Price in Philippine Peso: P58

I just started using this mask since January and until now, it never fails to pamper me. Besides from its great smell, it leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth for at least 3 days.

I really love using this while I'm just laying down and having those I just wanna daydream moments. I honestly feel like I'm gonna fall asleep while having this on my face for 15 minutes.

I might make a review about this item because I am just loving it so much!

UPDATE: My review for this mask is located HERE.

And I thought I just wanted to check out the makeup I was curious about..
Whenever I go to SM Megamall, I just have this habit that I'll go inside H&M and Forever 21 because most of my current favorite clothing pieces that I own are from there. I tried and failed to break this habit but then I needed wifi. For some reason, I can't connect to the wifi from any other location except inside forever 21 and I am not making this up, I just tried to go in to see if I'll get a signal and then when I did I started chatting with my mom while walking around the store and finding this super cute dress.

"Short Black Dress" from Forever 21
Price in Philippine Peso: P1275

I just realized it may look abit creepy but my goodness, this dress is super cute when I put it on. I really couldn't resist not getting it. It was under the "California" section and it was the last one there. And yes, it's the one I'm wearing on the 1st photo up on this blog.

I wasn't really a fan of the "peter pan" collar because whenever I try on clothing that has that collar, I look like I'm a little girl. I'm already small so making me wear things like this really doesn't flatter me although when I tried this on I just loved how it looked on me. Oh well, a first for everything once again.

me and bro @J.CO

I guess what I'm trying to say is, it's been a great shopping or splurging day for me and I do not regret buying these items, then again I have yet to try them all (except from the face mask since I use it all the time but you know what I mean.).

I am currently munching on some doughnuts while editing this blog and I will probably regret eating so much later on but anyway....

I will now publish this and hope that you guys would also share and recommend me some items to try out because let's face it, I'm pretty much a newbie and would really appreciate your suggestions.

Until next blog!
Joyce
