A 5-minute Facial Using Only 2 Products

In this day and age, living in it comes with a lot of demands such as school, playing catch-up with old friends, focusing on your mental health, trying to eat healthy, budgeting the money that sometimes isn't enough for everything and updating your social media accounts so your family won't miss you so much. A day isn't enough for everything, sometimes a week isn't as well. Doing the things I mentioned lacks parts that I often forget to do or really don't have the time doing anymore such as getting enough sleep, exercising, checking for new products like makeup or clothes at the mall, having time for a new hobby, doing my skin care routine on a daily basis or (what might've caused all of this:) managing my time. Plus the things outside that contribute to how our moods will go every day like the weather (harsh sunrays) and pollution.

Now, I'm not complaining, I'm very blessed to have a life where I am able to do all these things with the hours, days, weeks, months and years that I have because I'm still so young. But I'm also not gonna deny that it does take a toll on me, number one: on my skin.

First, my skin goes through phases wherein I'm really oily on my whole face, and then it switches to having an oily t-zone and very dry parts on my face. Not to mention I have sensitive skin and is very acne prone. Also, I'm one of those people who stresses out a lot. Whether we like it or not, it contributes a lot to achieving healthy and young looking skin. I'm not saying "young" too lightly, being young comes with a skin with an elasticity which helps the skin always looking good as new!

Not gonna lie, I love watching and blogging about my skin care routine, but like I said, I don't have the time nor the patience to do it every single day. I have searched high and low for amazing products. I've jumped on bandwagons for face masks and toners that didn't really work that good on me as everyone said it did on them. I just wanted products that I don't have to use every single day that would still make my skin look amazing. Just in time though, Fresh came out with their new products for their Lotus Youth Preserve line. They added in their Lotus Youth Preserve Rescue Mask and their Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream.

PS: My lips have been very dry these past few days and you'll likely see them here but I'm taking care of that now.

fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Rescue Mask Seaweed Radiance Facial

The very first thing I noticed once I opened the packaging was the scent. It smells so fresh (no pun intended) because of its natural ingredients. It consists of a blend of kombu seaweed, red algae, and lotus seeds that gently refines the skin's texture. Fresh also claims that this mask is a multi-benefit, 5-minute facial in a jar that rescues, revives and recovers tired and overstressed skin from daily stressors back to its radiant and youthful complexion. I mean, it sounds like everything that we could ask for right?

So, it's talked about that this product gives instant results. Based on Fresh's survey:
97% said it minimized the signs of daily stress, including dull, rough and dry skin.
97% said it preserved their youthful-looking complexion.
100% noticed it created a clean, smooth canvas.

On the back of the packaging, it says that you need to apply this on your face in circular motions and to let it work for 5 minutes.

The feeling that I experienced as I was applying this was first the scent was instantly relaxing. It helped a lot to make my mind chill as I was gently rubbing it on my face. It does sink into my skin quickly so I kinda use a lot of it. It also kinda tingles on my skin after applying but it would disappear in a few minutes so I just let my skin calm down before I apply more products after.

I would say that after I used it for a few times, it helped a lot on the dry parts on my face since it was kind of like a scrub because my face felt instantly softer after and made the dry patches disappear. This product also made my face feel so smooth and feel so clean. The cleanliness felt like it lasted the whole day even if I was out and about.

fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream with Super 7 Complex

Okay, I expressed my love for the face mask, but this face cream, I love it just as much (maybe even more). I mainly use this as a moisturizer. I use this product a few days in a week after I use the face mask, cleanse and tone my skin or before I apply my makeup on. Even if I go a few days without using it and dry patches start to show on some parts on my face again, I just apply this and it moisturizes my skin which helps to get rid of the appearance of the dry patches on my face. My face just feels hydrated and soft for a long time in a day or two.

Usually, I apply moisturizers only at night because the weather in the Philippines makes my oily t-zone look oilier than usual, and sometimes the moisturizers I used contributes a lot to the oiliness. This product did not exaggerate the oiliness on my face, it is not sticky and is very lightweight. It also dries up on the face faster or rather, it sinks into my face quickly, sucking up all the moisture this product gives with ease. The oiliness on my face still shows but it doesn't look out of control or excessive.

Applying this face cream before I apply my makeup provides a smooth canvas for my foundation and concealer. It does not make my makeup look patchy and my skin still feels so soft and smooth even after I applied my full face of makeup. So basically, it is something that is perfect to use to prep my skin for makeup.

This face cream claims to minimize or reduce the early signs of aging and like the face mask, and it boosts the skin's radiance. Being at a time where I could really feel the stress of the day to day activities, it is good to have something that would at least help me to still look presentable whenever I need it so much. Using this helps my skin to kind of like repair itself from all the lack of sleep, sometimes not eating healthy food enough and stress. The only thing that this product didn't help me with were the red spots on my face. I think it was just how it was, it never turned redder as I was using this product nor did it get lighter.

Would I recommend?

You might have checked these products out while reading this, and I know that these may cost a lot of money but something that I learned and is still trying to apply in my life is to not be cheap with myself. Having to do and work with a lot of things deserves a reward or treatment by the end of the day. The reward not only has to be something that reminds you of your hard work but would also help you with taking things slow and relax for you to concentrate on yourself and nothing else. Taking care of yourself is the best thing that you could reward yourself with. As long as you could afford it, I would recommend for you to check these out.

Also, if you are for whatever reason finding a late mother's day gift like me, then this would be one of the perfect ones to give for your mom and you to have a pamper session together in the comfort of your own home. Belated Happy Mother's Day to all the lovely and hardworking moms out there!

Disclosure: This was a collaboration with Sephora. I was not paid to say anything I mentioned about the products or the brands. Everything I wrote was based on my own experiences and what I found out from research on these products.

  • Price and where did I buy it:
P745 ($16.03 USD) at Rustan's Shangri-La. Click HERE to see what else I got during the time I bought this.

What do I think of this product?
I do admit that while I was trying it, I was afraid of the brush itself. It is a felt tip liner, quite soft that I thought if I use this, I'll surely make a mess. I was used to using a dip brush and pens that isn't this soft so it was really a surprise for me that this is easier to use because of the control I have over where it goes and the precision of the brush is perfection. It dries out fast and you have about less than a minute to fix the mistakes if you did any. It isn't completely matte and not shiny. I usually don't fill in the inner corners because of how hard it is, but when I did attempt to do it using this eyeliner, it was really easy.

    Is it worth the money?
Yeap, definitely lives up to it's hype too. I would recommend this for beginners because of how I described the brush, it is perfect for on-the go everyday use. I haven't tried the other colors yet but what I have is black and indeed, it is very black, very opaque and I won't have to worry about reapplying it later on since it survives my constant sweating. Not a cheap eyeliner but since you'll most likely finish this up and only have to apply it once everyday (if you wanna wear it everyday) then I think it's a good investment.

    Wearing it here!

So that is it for this review. I now have 2 products from Stila and the other one would be my Stila All Day Liquid Lipstick in Patina (if you wanna read my review all about it, click HERE) and so far, I am not disappointed. I'm actually looking forward for a new product to try out from this line so if you have any suggestions for me to try, do leave a comment down below or even if you have any more further questions, I'll be sure to reply as soon as I see it.

I hope that this has helped if you are looking to try out this product. And ps: I just realized I dreamed of this exact moment, and yeap, I dreamt that I was making a blog post and the ones I typed above are what I dreamed about. It should've felt creepy but I'm actually excited about it haha!

Stila All Day Liquid Lipstick "Patina" Review

So yesterday, me and my brother went to Shangri-la Rustan's just to get this lipstick. I've seen this all over youtube, weheartit and also from other bloggers. Everyone just loved it so much and I decided I wanted it in my life since from what I've seen, this color looks great on everybody. So when we got to the stila stall there, (I almost couldn't find it since the space was a tad too small and it was in the far corner) "Patina" wasn't on display, I asked for it and lucky me, they had 1 last stock left. It was reserved for someone but they didn't picked it up on their suppose deadline so yea, I got it!

The size of this product is 0.10 FL.OZ. / OZ. LIQ. / 3 ml and this would really take a long time for me to finish but not too big and not too small and works well if you're putting it on your bag or make up kit when you're traveling or just heading out.

    Item Description:

A creamy-matte, full coverage lip color that delivers bold, long lasting color and stays in place for up to 6 hours of continuous wear.

The texture is weightless on lips and delivers superb comfort and its color-rich formula will not bleed or transfer.

Enriched with vitamin E and avocado oil, Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick softens the lips so they look and feel beautiful!

    Price:

P1,250 which is $27.71. Yep a lot more expensive compared to other countries which only costs them $22 which is P992.53. I got it at Shangri-la Rustan's.

What I think of this product?

To be completely honest, I was having 2nd thoughts on actually buying this at first because besides the fact that it is pricey, my lips are very dry and I thought that this product wouldn't look good on me. Well, I was wrong, even if I didn't apply lipbalm and just put it in, it actually moisturizes my lips but it doesn't feel sticky which is what actually sold me on getting it.

Like from what I said above, I am loving this shade so much! It's so beautiful and kind of reminds me what most hollywood celebs are actually wearing now like Ariana Grande and Kylie Jenner. It actually smells really good too like no hint of chemical smell whatsoever. Fragrant but not overpowering that would make you feel dizzy so that is another +1 for it.

The cons on this product would have to be it's application. It is indeed pretty messy so do start at the middle part of your lips and so on. Another thing is it sinks in to the lines on your lips and the kiss test, well for me that didn't really work for I don't know what reason but even if it does leave a little mark on me, the color on my lips doesn't fade and having to wear it all day yesterday, I think it is long lasting on your lips.

    Is it worth the money?

Yes, It is beautiful and definitely worth the investment. If you're the type to like wearing matte lipsticks then you should go ahead and try this. I do think Patina is the best but then again, another color I had my eye on was Aria but it wasn't on stock. The lady who assisted me told me that Beso, Patina and Aria are always the ones out of stock because it's what people are always buying from them. So if you're Stila stores accepts reservations whenever they restock, do reserve as soon as possible if you ever think of getting it because like I said, it sells out fast!

So I guess that's it for this product, All in all I think I would consider this one of my holy grail lipsticks now. I hope that this has helped you if you are looking into getting this product or if you're just curious about it. Do comment below if you have any other products you suggest me to try out that you'd think I would like or if you have similar or different experience after using this product.

    Monthly Favorites! [May 2015]

Hey everyone! Welcome back to my blog! If you're new here, Hi I'm Joyce and this is my monthly favorites for the month of May 2015. I will be showing you  guys what I got addicted to for this month whether it's beauty products, accessories, home ware, music, shows, food, apps or a fellow blogger that I'm following. So let's get to it!

Let's get started with the beauty products since it's my favorite in all of these.

First one is of course Benefit's Roller Lash Mascara. I bought this not so long ago all because every tutorial or reviews that I look, this mascara has always been mentioned. I decided to try it out and I did not regret it.

Item Description: It's a roller for lashes! The eye opening Hook' n' Roll brush grabs, saparates, lifts and curls.. while the instant curve-setting formula holds for 12 hours.

97% said it visibly lifts lashes, 87% said it gives long-lasting curl, 94% said eyes look more wide open.

Price and where did I buy it?: P1300 at Rustan's Shangri-la.

Why is it my favorite? If you guys have seen my review, you'd know that I practically raved about this mascara. It works wonders especially having long but straight eyelashes like mine.

2nd, Another item that I reviewed about is Etude House's I Need You: Tea Tree Mask. I've been using this mask since January this year due to a friend's recommendation. After I tried some other face masks, I just always came back to this one.

Item Description: This mask sheet contains extract from the clean herb, Tea tree extract (Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Extract, with soothing properties on skin to provide a fresh, clean complexion.

Price and where did I buy it?: P58 at the Etude House Boutique in SM Megamall.

Why is it my favorite? The scent and the feel to my skin that it leaves after using this mask is what I love about it. Plus, it's in my budget range.

Next one is Etude House's Play Nail #42 PP503. I had this manicure ever since September 2014, I just never used it that much before that it was practically at the very bottom of my manicure rack. I started using it again and I am inlove.

Item Description: There wasn't any relevant description of this item on their site, but they have this manicure in so many different colors.
Price and where did I buy it?: P128 at the Etude House boutique in SM Megamall.

Why is it my favorite? Well for one is that I had this manicure for awhile and yet it didn't dry out comparing to my other manicure that I owned about the same time. After 1 week of applying it, it still looks great even with a little chip here and there but not really that noticeable and it's great for women like me who are practically always doing household chores.

    For Accessories...

I'll be showing you guys just 1 accessory this month since I wasn't really a fan of them at 1st but I think I am now hooked. So this one is a necklace from Forever 21. I bought this necklace last month all because when I was walking around the store, I kept passing by this necklace and it never failed to grab my attention every time. I tried it on and decided to get it since I don't really have a necklace anyway.

Item Description: I can't find it on their website but its practically just a little long necklace with 2 circles attached together in the color gold.

Price and where did I buy it?: I lost the receipt but it was more or less P280 at Forever 21.

Why is it my favorite? I really do not own that much accessories (now that I think about it, I have almost none.) and whenever I wear this with my plain T-shirts (which I really love because its so comfortable), it doesn't give me that plain jane vibe. I really like that it isn't itchy on my neck like the old necklaces I used to have.

    Okay, so for food...

If some of you guys are in the Philippines then you would know how much the weather is torturing all of us. So my favorite snack or dessert now is Magnolia Vanilla Ice Cream (No sugar added). My favorite Ice cream flavors are chocolate, cookies and cream, ube and vanilla but I didn't want to feel guilty about eating it everyday so I chose this one that didn't have sugar (yes, I personally think it is perfect for my now diet).

Item Description: I cant find any description besides for the fact that it's flavor is Vanilla and it has no sugar in it.

Price and where did I buy it? P140 at Shopwise Antipolo

Why is it my favorite? I love ice cream, and having a bit of guilt free and its cheap, then I think this is worth it. It tastes amazing and me and my brother are addicted to it, we just can't leave Shopwise without buying this. And with the weather right now, it is the perfect comfort food.

I found a new workout instructor online!

Well not a personal instructor but a trainer in youtube he is Millionaire Hoy and he will help you tone and burn the fats of your body. I found him I think 2 months ago and he is amazing. I have a love hate relationship with him because he knows how to get me sweating like mad but at the same time teaches alternatives if you can't do specific moves or can't keep up with the whole routine. I could honestly compare him with the Insanity workout. He has videos of all sorts of workouts and he tries and reply to everyone who asks him questions with suggestions relevant to the question. So check him out.. click HERE

Favorite Song / Artist that I was practically jamming to 24/7 this month...

Zella Day. I just recently found her I think on youtube while I was just watching music video after music video. I love her. Her voice is amazing and unique. Her video for her song Hypnotic gives out a different vibe to the regular videos we see nowadays. I like how deep the lyrics on her songs are that sometimes makes me think like "why didn't I thought of that?". So check her out if you haven't already since I'm guessing I'm a bit late to ship her career. My most favorite song of hers, I couldn't really pick just one but its 1965, Compass and Hypnotic. I made it as my background music on my tumblr page if you wanna have a quick listen of it.

For my most viewed blogger this month...

As you guys may now know, I'm pretty new to step into the beauty community. I always loved makeup but finally deciding to be part of being in the community to give advice and opinions is still so new, so I do look up to the veterans that are in this field for a very long time now.

I found this blogger while I was trying to find a good and honest review about the item I was wanting to buy (I forgot which item that was.) And I stumbled upon Tang QiaoQiao's blog a.k.a. "Try dream a little dream". She has a really cute blog and her posts are just so creative and informative. She was 1 of the 1st few beauty gurus blogs that I followed. So check her blog out HERE.  Her Google+ is here: +Tang QiaoQiao

    DONE!

Anyway, I think that is all the things I've been loving this month and hope that you guys find this useful if you are looking to try these out too. So +1, follow or comment down below if you guys have / had the same things that you like or if you guys have suggestions that you think I may like.

Thanks for reading, until the next blog!
